[Diablo 2] Patch 1.14 drew in many first time players (or inexperienced ones). This got me thinking

... The tooltips in D2 can often be misleading or unclear. What are some of you veterans' favorite tips regarding game mechanics that are not often understood by new players?

For example: one that I just found out about has to do with "X% damage taken goes to mana" affix on gear.

I was under the impression that when you took damage, X% would be subtracted from your mana pool instead of life.THIS IS INCORRECT

What it actually does is this - you take the same damage you normally would, but that percentage of it is ADDED to your mana!

This is a complete game changer for me because I just got Tal Rasha's belt that gives 37%. No more chugging shit tons of potions and being mana starved! I avoided this affix on gear until this point. Such a good thing to know.

Anyway, what are some of your favorite clarifications?
