It is not supposed to become permanently impossible because someone cleaned their inventory.
Players report that the Anger portion of the hidden quest can become soft-locked when Amazon Training equipment is lost, salvaged or fails to trigger the correct character progression.
Replacement pieces may stop dropping.
Vasha the Unbroken may refuse to drop Mother’s Rose.
The Temple of Courage brazier remains inactive.
The cows continue enjoying their privacy.
The Amazon Training Set Can Stop Dropping
The Anger step requires players to collect a five-piece Amazon Training set.
The process begins with a special helmet obtained from a training dummy.
With that helmet equipped, Corrupted Amazons are supposed to drop the remaining armour pieces.
Several players say this works normally until one piece is lost or the quest state becomes confused.
After that, the helmet may still drop from the dummy, but the remaining Training pieces stop appearing entirely.
Players report killing thousands of Corrupted Amazons without receiving the missing equipment.
The secret quest becomes less of a puzzle and more of an unpaid population-control programme.
Salvaging One Piece Can Apparently Break Progression
One detailed report describes a player who successfully collected and equipped the full Amazon Training set.
While waiting for Vasha the Unbroken to appear, the player unequipped the boots and returned to town to clear inventory.
The boots were accidentally salvaged.
From that moment, replacement boots stopped dropping.
The player later salvaged the remaining set, repeated the Anger ritual and obtained another helmet.
Nothing restored the other drops.
The blacksmith did not simply recycle one pair of boots.
He may have recycled the character’s permission to continue the quest.
Vasha Can Refuse To Drop Mother’s Rose
Other players manage to collect all five Amazon Training pieces but encounter a different failure.
After equipping the set and killing Vasha the Unbroken, Mother’s Rose does not drop.
Some have repeated the fight multiple times.
Others have recollected the entire set on alternate characters and still failed to receive the Rose.
Mother’s Rose is required to activate the related brazier at the Temple of Courage.
Without it, the Anger step cannot be completed.
Vasha dies normally.
The loot table simply forgets the one item supporting the entire secret quest.
The Quest Appears To Use Fragile Character Flags
Player testing suggests that the hidden quest tracks more than the items inside the account-wide stash.
Progression may depend on which character completed each ritual, collected the Training equipment and defeated the related elite.
Some players transferred Mother’s Rose or Amazon equipment between characters, only to discover that the brazier remained inactive.
Others completed the same steps on a new character and finally progressed.
This suggests that possessing the correct item may not be enough.
The correct character may also need an invisible sequence of quest flags.
The items say Account Bound.
The secret quest appears emotionally attached to one specific hero.
Starting A New Character Has Worked For Some Players
Several affected players eventually completed the Anger step using another character.
The successful method generally involved repeating the entire relevant sequence on that character:
- Perform the Anger ritual.
- Read the required journal or clue.
- Obtain and equip the Amazon Training Helmet.
- Collect the remaining four pieces on the same character.
- Keep the full set equipped.
- Defeat Vasha the Unbroken.
- Use Mother’s Rose with that same character.
This workaround is not guaranteed.
Players have also reported creating multiple alternate characters without receiving the missing Rose.
A hidden quest can reasonably demand unusual actions.
Repeating hours of invisible progression because one flag broke is less charming.
Repeating The Anger Ritual May Reset The Drops
Another commonly reported workaround involves destroying every Amazon Training item and restarting the Anger sequence.
Players recommend salvaging all Training pieces, leaving the game, logging back in and repeating the ritual in Kyovashad.
They then return to the clue, obtain a fresh helmet from the dummy and begin farming Corrupted Amazons again.
Some players say the full set dropped within minutes after this reset.
Others report that it did nothing.
It is therefore worth trying, but it should not be mistaken for a reliable repair.
The quest is essentially asking players to perform a second secret ritual to repair the first secret ritual.
Completing Another Sin First May Help
One July report describes a different successful workaround.
The player temporarily abandoned the broken Anger step and completed another portion of the secret quest first.
After finishing the Hierophant’s Skull sequence and burning that offering, the player returned to Anger.
They repeated the ritual, reread the journal, equipped the Amazon Training armour and travelled directly to Vasha.
This time, Mother’s Rose dropped.
That may indicate the hidden quest can recover when another progression flag updates.
It may also have been fortunate timing.
With a quest this inconsistent, players are currently reverse-engineering both the intended mystery and the bugs protecting it.
Loot Filters Can Make The Problem More Confusing
The Amazon Training pieces are low-quality quest items and may be hidden by aggressive loot-filter settings.
Players should disable their filter before assuming the items are not dropping.
However, many affected players explicitly confirm that filters were disabled and ordinary white items remained visible.
The issue therefore cannot be explained entirely by hidden loot.
Checking the filter is sensible.
Killing ten thousand additional Amazons afterward is probably enough confirmation.
Modifying The Training Equipment May Also Cause Problems
Players warn against crafting on, tempering or otherwise modifying the Amazon Training items.
The quest may expect the original versions of the equipment and reject altered pieces.
Until Blizzard clarifies the rules, the safest approach is to leave every Training item untouched.
Do not upgrade it.
Do not salvage it.
Do not transfer it to another character.
Do not trust the inventory’s Sort button anywhere near a blacksmith.
This is less equipment management and more evidence preservation.
The Bug Can Waste An Enormous Amount Of Time
The Secret Cow Level chain already asks players to follow obscure clues, perform several rituals and collect unusual items.
That effort is part of the appeal.
Players expect a hidden quest to require experimentation.
They do not expect the solution to stop functioning because the internal quest state no longer matches the inventory.
Reports describe hours spent farming Corrupted Amazons, repeated elite kills and several newly created characters.
One player had already earned the achievement for killing thousands of Amazons without obtaining the required set.
The greatest secret was apparently whether the drops were still enabled.
Blizzard Needs A Manual Quest Reset
The cleanest solution would give players a way to reset each hidden-quest branch.
Repeating the Anger ritual should clear every related flag and restore all required drops.
The game should remove any invalid Training equipment state, reactivate the helmet and allow the remaining pieces to drop again.
Vasha should then provide Mother’s Rose once the full conditions are met.
A reset would preserve the secrecy of the quest without permanently trapping a character after one mistake.
At present, the game provides no clear indication that a branch is broken.
It simply stops cooperating.
Quest Items Should Be Recoverable
Important hidden-quest items should not be permanently lost through ordinary salvaging.
Blizzard could mark the Amazon Training set as unsalvageable until its step is complete.
The items could also be reclaimed from the training dummy, a quest vendor or the Collections interface.
If the character has previously obtained a piece, the game should allow another copy to drop.
A secret quest can punish incorrect assumptions.
It should not punish basic inventory maintenance with permanent exile from Cow Island.
Mother’s Rose Needs A Guaranteed Failsafe
Once the character has collected and equipped the complete Training set, Vasha’s Rose should be guaranteed.
If the boss dies without dropping it, the game should place the item directly in the player’s inventory or send it to the missed-item stash.
The Temple of Courage brazier could also check the completed conditions and activate without requiring the physical item.
Repeatedly killing the same elite should not be necessary to determine whether the quest understood the previous steps.
The Secret Cow Level Should Be Difficult For The Right Reasons
Diablo’s Cow Level has always been surrounded by rumours, strange requirements and community experimentation.
That tradition is worth preserving.
Players should need to solve clues and discover unusual interactions.
They should not need to diagnose invisible character flags, rebuild alternate heroes and conduct controlled experiments with the blacksmith.
Blizzard needs to make Amazon Training pieces recoverable, guarantee Mother’s Rose when the requirements are met and provide a genuine reset for broken progression.
Until then, anyone attempting the Anger step should keep every item, use one character and avoid modifying anything.
The cows are waiting.
The quest database is guarding the door.
