Diablo Immortal is celebrating 30 years of Diablo with a gift pulled directly from one of the series’ most famous wardrobes.
Players can now claim a free cosmetic set inspired by the Immortal King armor from Diablo 2.
No premium currency is required.
No Battle Pass needs to be completed.
No suspiciously glowing loot box needs to be opened.
You simply need a character at level 10.
The Immortal King Cosmetic Is Free
The anniversary reward became available on July 29, 2026.
Every eligible Diablo Immortal character at level 10 or above can claim the cosmetic during the anniversary event.
The armor is inspired by the Immortal King set worn by Barbarians in Diablo 2 and Diablo 2: Resurrected.
It is one of the most recognisable armor sets in the franchise, combining enormous horned equipment with the subtle visual philosophy of a man who would like every demon in the room to notice him immediately.
Each Character Can Claim It Once
Blizzard says each character can claim the anniversary reward one time.
When the reward is claimed, the cosmetic is unlocked for that character’s current class.
That detail matters for players who use several characters or regularly change classes.
Before claiming the set, make sure the character is currently using the class that should receive the cosmetic appearance.
The armor may be inspired by a Barbarian set, but Diablo Immortal adapts the look for its different classes.
The Immortal King has apparently expanded the dress code.
You Need To Reach Level 10
The level requirement is low enough that new or returning players should be able to qualify quickly.
Characters below level 10 will need to gain a few levels before the reward becomes available.
Veteran players should already satisfy the requirement on their established characters.
Anyone returning specifically for the anniversary should still check every character they intend to use before the event ends.
Free cosmetics are only free when somebody remembers to press the claim button.
The Set Comes From Diablo 2 Royalty
Immortal King is a classic Diablo 2 Barbarian set built around heavy armor and enormous physical damage.
The original collection included Immortal King’s Will, Soul Cage, Detail, Forge, Pillar and Stone Crusher.
Completing the full set turned the Barbarian into a walking monument to blunt-force trauma.
The Diablo Immortal version is cosmetic rather than a recreation of those original set bonuses.
It will not suddenly grant the wearer the complete power of a Diablo 2 Whirlwind Barbarian.
It will, however, allow them to look as if they are about to explain why every problem can be solved with a very large hammer.
This Is Part Of Diablo’s 30th Anniversary
The free armor is only one part of Diablo Immortal’s month-long anniversary celebration.
Blizzard is also running four Mirrored Jewels events back-to-back from July 29 through August 26.
Returning activities include Survivor’s Bane, Trial of the Hordes, Fractured Plane and Wild Brawl.
A revamped battle against Baal is also planned for August, alongside the return of Avarice and his Goblin swarm.
The anniversary is therefore not limited to one login reward.
Blizzard has constructed an entire month around nostalgia, extra rewards and several demons who apparently refused to remain retired.
The Claim System Could Confuse Class Changers
Diablo Immortal allows characters to change class.
Because the Immortal King cosmetic unlocks for the class being played when the reward is claimed, players should think carefully before collecting it.
A character currently experimenting with a temporary class may not want to lock the anniversary appearance to that class.
The safest approach is to switch to the class that should receive the cosmetic before claiming the reward.
Blizzard’s announcement does not describe the reward as a universal account-wide unlock for every class.
Claim first and read later is therefore not the recommended build.
Free Cosmetics Are Rarely This Straightforward
Diablo Immortal has built much of its cosmetic economy around Battle Passes, bundles and premium purchases.
That makes a recognisable anniversary set available through a simple level requirement unusually welcome.
The reward also works because it uses Diablo history rather than another unrelated fashion theme.
Immortal King belongs in Sanctuary.
It looks heavy, impractical and designed for someone who solves doors by running through them.
Returning Players Have A Good Reason To Log In
The anniversary event is clearly designed to bring former players back for a look.
A free cosmetic provides an immediate reward before the player needs to understand every new system added since their last visit.
The Mirrored Jewels events and returning activities then provide reasons to remain after claiming it.
That combination is smarter than hiding the best anniversary item behind weeks of progression.
The armor is available quickly.
The rest of the event can then attempt to keep the player occupied until Baal arrives.
Claim It Before The Anniversary Ends
Blizzard says the anniversary celebration stretches through August, although players should avoid leaving the reward until the final moment.
Log in with an eligible character.
Confirm that the correct class is active.
Claim the Immortal King cosmetic.
Then spend several minutes deciding whether the enormous horns improve every possible outfit.
They do.
Diablo has spent 30 years teaching players that larger shoulder armor represents progress.
Diablo Immortal is finally giving everyone a free example.
