Diablo Immortal has discovered a remarkably effective way of celebrating Halloween: give players another collection of monsters to kill, several currencies to collect, and a calendar that requires almost as much attention as the combat.
There are worse traditions, admittedly. Particularly in Sanctuary, where the traditional seasonal decorations tend to involve corpses rather than pumpkins.
But the new Long March event, introduced on October 21, 2026, deserves a closer look. Hidden beneath the Halloween festivities is a reward campaign offering Telluric Pearls, Legendary Gems, selectable Set Items and Legendary equipment. For players trying to improve a character without spending money on another collection of premium bundles, those rewards are worth pursuing.
The catch is that Long March does not operate on one convenient deadline.
Its weekly objectives reset every Wednesday, several associated events finish on different dates, and the entire campaign closes on November 11.
Miss the wrong deadline, and some of your opportunities disappear.
We covered the wider update in our Diablo Immortal Patch 5.1.2 overview. This time, we're concentrating on the practical questions: how Skeletal Spoils work, which rewards are worth prioritizing, and what to finish before the next weekly reset.
How Long March Works – Skeletal Spoils, Weekly Tasks and Reward Milestones
Long March runs from October 21, following maintenance, until November 11, 2026, at 2:59 a.m. server time.
Completing event objectives awards Skeletal Spoils, which contribute toward a sequence of reward milestones. These rewards include equipment, upgrade materials, Legendary Gems and Telluric Pearls.
Unlike Hallows Phantom, which uses Hallowed Stones, Long March has its own progression currency. The two events run alongside one another, but players should not confuse their rewards or currencies.
The most important detail is the weekly reset.
Long March objectives refresh every Wednesday at 3:00 a.m. server time. The next resets are October 28 and November 4, while the campaign ends immediately before the November 11 reset.
If you're working on an unfinished weekly objective, complete it before the relevant Wednesday reset rather than assuming it will remain available throughout the event.
The weekly objectives documented by the community include several familiar activities:
| Weekly Objective | Skeletal Spoils |
|---|---|
| Log in | 4 |
| Defeat 100 Elite Monsters | 24 |
| Identify equipment 5 times | 24 |
| Gain 5 levels | 40 |
| Defeat 500 monsters | 10 |
| Salvage 100 pieces of equipment | 15 |
| Collect 10 Monster Essences | 15 |
These tasks overlap rather nicely with activities most players already perform.
Farming monsters provides opportunities to defeat Elites, collect Monster Essences, gather equipment for salvaging and gain experience. There is little reason to approach every objective as an entirely separate expedition.
The obvious strategy is to combine them.
Run your preferred farming activities, identify equipment before salvaging it when appropriate, and pay attention to Elite kills and Monster Essence collection. If you are already working toward Paragon progression or farming Legendary Essences, the objectives should fit naturally into that routine.
The equipment identification objective is particularly easy to overlook. Players who automatically salvage disappointing loot should check whether they still need identification progress before cleaning out their inventory.
It is a small detail, but Diablo Immortal has always been surprisingly good at making the order in which you click on equipment matter.
The individual task values above come from community documentation of the live event. Blizzard's official announcement confirms the weekly reset and reward categories but does not publish the complete objective table, so check the in-game Long March screen for your current available tasks.
Best Long March Rewards – What Should You Prioritize?
Long March offers a mixture of immediate equipment improvements and resources that contribute toward long-term character development.
That distinction is important because the most valuable reward is not necessarily the rarest-looking object on the screen.
A selectable Set Item can complete a crucial bonus for one character, while another player may already have an excellent equipment setup and benefit much more from an additional Legendary Gem or Telluric Pearl.
Community documentation identifies the following notable reward milestones:
| Skeletal Spoils | Notable Rewards |
|---|---|
| 80 | Selectable Legendary item and 1-Star Legendary Gem |
| 180 | Selectable Legendary item, mystery Set Item and Aspirant's Keys |
| 240 | Selectable Set Item and 1-Star Legendary Gem |
| 360 | Telluric Pearl, mystery Set Item and upgrade materials |
| 480 | Selectable Set Item and 1-Star Legendary Gem |
| 660 | Telluric Pearl, mystery Set Item and selectable Legendary item |
| 720 | Selectable Set Item and 1-Star Legendary Gem |
These are selected milestones rather than the complete reward track. The live event interface should be treated as authoritative if rewards or requirements change.
For players still developing their character's equipment, the selectable Set Items may be among the strongest rewards.
Completing a two-piece, four-piece or six-piece Set bonus can make a greater practical difference than receiving another random Legendary item with slightly improved attributes.
That is particularly relevant because Diablo Immortal has recently made substantial changes to Set farming.
We examined those improvements in our Blessed Hunter guide, which explains how the temporary event provides additional opportunities to improve dungeon Set drops before November 3.
Long March offers another source of Set equipment, but the two systems should not be confused. Blizzard describes Blessed Hunter's special blessing rolls as applying to qualifying dungeon drops, not automatically to every Set Item obtained from an event reward.
Use Long March to fill missing equipment slots, but do not assume the reward will receive every bonus associated with Blessed Hunter.
There is also another complication worth remembering.
Earlier this year, Blizzard retired several older Set bonuses from the active equipment system. Players choosing rewards should therefore pay attention to the current Set effects rather than following an outdated build guide that recommends equipment whose bonus no longer functions.
For characters that already have their desired Set bonuses, Telluric Pearls become particularly attractive.
These resources contribute toward obtaining selected 5-Star Legendary Gems, offering a slower but more predictable progression route than depending entirely on random Elder Rift results.
As we discussed in our examination of Blizzard's redesigned Boon of Plenty, Telluric Pearls have become increasingly important to players who want a long-term plan for Legendary Gem development.
The 1-Star Legendary Gems available through Long March serve a different purpose. They can help players develop lower-rarity Gems or provide useful Gem Power for upgrades, depending on their current equipment.
For a new or returning player, that may be considerably more valuable than it initially appears.
There is no universal reward order that suits every account. The sensible choice depends on what your character is missing, which upgrades are already underway and how much of the Long March track you expect to complete.
And, for once, Blizzard has made one part of that decision easier.
Patch 5.1.2 improves selectable Legendary equipment rewards. Instead of choosing an equipment slot and receiving a random Legendary from that slot, players can now receive a specific Legendary item.
That change matters enormously for anyone hunting a particular Essence.
A reward that lets you choose the item you actually need is much more useful than another opportunity to roll the same disappointing helmet for the seventeenth time.
Long March Event Calendar – What to Finish Before November 11
Long March is not the only event running during this period.
Blizzard has scheduled four returning activities alongside the campaign, each with its own start and end date.
| Event | Starts | Ends |
|---|---|---|
| Trial of the Hordes | October 21, 3:00 a.m. | October 27, 2:59 a.m. |
| Shady Stock | October 24, 3:00 a.m. | October 31, 2:59 a.m. |
| Fractured Plane | October 28, 3:00 a.m. | November 4, 2:59 a.m. |
| All Clans on Deck | October 31, 3:00 a.m. | November 7, 2:59 a.m. |
| Long March ends | — | November 11, 2:59 a.m. |
All times follow the published server-time schedule.
The first immediate deadline is Trial of the Hordes on October 27. It closes before the first Long March weekly reset, so players interested in participating should not assume they have until Wednesday.
Shady Stock is already active and continues until October 31, while Fractured Plane begins on October 28.
Fractured Plane deserves particular attention because it offers a different kind of Diablo Immortal experience. Rather than relying entirely on your normal equipment, the mode asks players to work with temporary builds and selected powers during a self-contained challenge.
It is also a mode with an unfortunate recent history.
Back in August, we covered a bug in which Fractured Plane continued offering retired Legendary Essences that no longer functioned.
That incident was a useful reminder that temporary modes are still affected by the game's wider equipment changes. Anyone returning to Fractured Plane should examine the available powers carefully rather than assuming older build combinations remain valid.
All Clans on Deck begins October 31 and continues until November 7, giving organized groups another reason to coordinate their playtime.
Blizzard's calendar groups these activities with Long March, but the official announcement does not establish that every action in every returning mode automatically awards Skeletal Spoils. Check the active event objectives to see which activities contribute to the campaign.
There is also Hallows Phantom, running over the same October 21 to November 11 period.
This Halloween-themed version of Defense of Cyrangar uses Hallowed Stones rather than Skeletal Spoils, and offers rewards including Legendary Crests, Telluric Pearls and special head cosmetics.
The cosmetics include Headless Pyre, Headless Miasma and Headless Haunt, which are appropriate rewards for a game that has never been particularly concerned with keeping its characters in one piece.
One important warning: Blizzard explicitly states that unused Hallowed Stones will be removed when Hallows Phantom ends.
That removal rule is confirmed for Hallowed Stones, not separately for Skeletal Spoils. Nevertheless, players should claim their available Long March rewards before its November 11 deadline rather than assuming they can return to the campaign afterward.
The best plan for the remaining weeks is relatively simple. Before October 28, finish the current Long March objectives and any Trial of the Hordes activities you still want to complete. After the reset, check the new objectives, participate in Fractured Plane if it interests you, and continue progressing through the reward track.
Repeat that process after the November 4 reset, then make sure the rewards you have earned are claimed before the event closes on November 11.
None of this requires a mathematically perfect farming route.
It requires a little planning, a reasonable amount of regular play and the willingness to open the event screen occasionally instead of discovering important deadlines approximately six minutes after they have expired.
And that is really where Long March succeeds or fails.
Diablo Immortal has enough progression systems to keep a dedicated player occupied indefinitely. Legendary Gems, Normal Gems, Set bonuses, Legendary Essences, Helliquary progression, equipment upgrades and Paragon levels already compete for attention.
Another event campaign could easily become little more than an additional checklist.
But Long March has something in its favor: its rewards can contribute directly to systems players were already developing.
A selectable Set Item can complete a build. A Legendary choice can provide a missing Essence. A Telluric Pearl contributes toward a longer-term Gem objective. Even an ordinary 1-Star Legendary Gem can be useful when the next upgrade requires more resources.
The secret is not to treat every reward as equally important.
Identify what your character needs, complete the weekly objectives you can reasonably manage, and avoid letting the different deadlines catch you by surprise.
Sanctuary will still be full of demons after November 11.
Long March's rewards, however, will not remain available forever.
And after four years of Diablo Immortal, most players have learned that the only thing more frustrating than missing a rare Legendary drop is realizing that the game was prepared to give you something useful for free, provided you remembered to claim it on Tuesday.
