Diablo Immortal Spawn Event Guide: How to Unlock Free Weapon Skins, Legendary Gems and Rewards

Hell has always been a rather crowded place in the Diablo universe, but apparently there was still room for one more angry resident wearing a red cape. Spawn, Todd McFarlane's legendary comic-book antihero, has arrived in Diablo Immortal, bringing chains, necroplasm, monstrous enemies, and a surprisingly generous collection of limited-time rewards. The crossover runs from September 29 to November 1, 2026, and while some of its more elaborate cosmetics are locked behind purchases, there is plenty for free-to-play adventurers to collect without opening their wallets.

The important part is knowing where to spend your time. Between Hellspawn's Vengeance, Hellspawn's Bane, The Eighth Circle, and the new Necroplasmic Totem Legendary Gem, the event offers several activities that feed into its reward system. Here is how everything works, which rewards are available through gameplay, and what you should prioritize before Spawn returns to his own particularly unpleasant corner of Hell.

How to Unlock Free Spawn Rewards in Diablo Immortal

The centerpiece of the crossover is Hellspawn's Vengeance, a limited-time reward track that progresses through Vengeance Marks. These are earned by completing weekly event objectives and participating in activities such as Hellspawn's Bane and The Eighth Circle. The system rewards consistent participation rather than simply logging in once and expecting a complete wardrobe of demonic fashion accessories to appear in your inventory.

To get started, open the event interface and locate Hellspawn's Vengeance. Check the available weekly objectives, identify which activities award Vengeance Marks, and begin working through them. Your progress unlocks rewards along the track, including cosmetics, equipment, and the event's special Legendary Gem. Since the collaboration ends on November 1, it makes sense to complete weekly objectives as they become available rather than leaving everything until the final weekend.

All Free Spawn Event Rewards

Blizzard has confirmed that the Hellspawn's Vengeance reward track includes the following rewards:

  • 10 Hellspawn's Guise weapon skins: Spawn-inspired weapon appearances available through event progression.
  • 6 Hellspawn emotes: Exclusive collaboration emotes for expressing yourself with considerably more demonic enthusiasm.
  • 1 Hellspawned Dominion Avatar Frame: A limited-time cosmetic reward.
  • 1 Necroplasmic Totem Legendary Gem: A special two-star Legendary Gem inspired by Spawn's powers.
  • Legendary Crests: Useful resources for players looking to improve their Legendary Gem collection.
  • Legendary equipment: Additional gear rewards earned through progression.
  • Set items: Equipment that can help strengthen your character.

These rewards are associated with the earnable event track, although individual unlocks depend on progressing far enough to reach their respective milestones. The ten weapon appearances are part of the event's overall reward offering, so players should check the available selections and unlock conditions rather than assume every appearance is granted immediately. For anyone interested primarily in cosmetics, the weapon skins and avatar frame are particularly worth pursuing because they are tied to a limited-time collaboration.

Hellspawn's Bane: The Best Place to Start

One of the event's main activities is Hellspawn's Bane, a special version of Survivor's Bane featuring powers inspired by Spawn himself. The basic idea remains familiar: survive increasingly dangerous waves of enemies, collect orbs, gain new abilities, and turn the battlefield into a spectacular demonstration of why demons should reconsider their career choices.

This version introduces six Spawn-themed skills, including Hell Chains, which strikes enemies in a cone, K7-Leetha Cloak, which deals continuous damage around the player, and Necroplasm, which fires three projectiles in the direction the character is facing. Hell Fire creates a damaging rift ahead of the player. Together, these abilities encourage aggressive positioning and constant movement, particularly when enemies begin surrounding you.

For efficient progression, concentrate on surviving consistently rather than chasing every enemy across the arena. Area damage becomes especially useful as enemy density increases, while abilities that protect your immediate surroundings can help prevent sudden deaths. Collect skill orbs whenever it is safe, and pay attention to the weekly Hellspawn's Vengeance objectives so your runs contribute toward the rewards you actually want.

The Eighth Circle: Face Malebolgia

Spawn would hardly be complete without Malebolgia, the demonic ruler responsible for some of the more unfortunate developments in Al Simmons' afterlife. In Diablo Immortal, Malebolgia appears through The Eighth Circle, a special Helliquary encounter that forms another important part of the crossover.

The encounter gives players another opportunity to participate in collaboration activities and progress through relevant event objectives. Before entering, make sure your character is appropriately equipped for the available difficulty, and consider joining a coordinated group if the encounter proves challenging. Players who normally concentrate on solo activities should not overlook this portion of the event, particularly when its objectives contribute to Vengeance Marks.

How to Get the Necroplasmic Totem Legendary Gem

Among the most interesting rewards is the Necroplasmic Totem, a new two-star Legendary Gem inspired by Spawn's supernatural abilities. One copy is available through the Hellspawn's Vengeance reward track, making it an attractive target for players who want to experiment with the gem without relying entirely on Elder Rift drops.

Its effect is built around offensive pressure and periodic harmful effects. Dealing damage activates Necroplasm, increasing the player's damage for six seconds. While active, Necroplasm periodically attempts to remove a harmful damage-over-time effect from the player. Successfully removing one, or killing an enemy, can trigger a Necroplasmic Bolt that explodes and applies Burning damage to nearby enemies. The effect has activation limits, including a 20-second restriction on gaining Necroplasm again.

This combination makes the gem interesting for builds that regularly defeat groups of enemies, although its actual value will depend on your existing Legendary Gems, available upgrades, and preferred activities. It should not automatically replace a well-developed gem simply because it arrived wearing Spawn's signature green glow.

Blizzard has also added Necroplasmic Totem to several Elder Rift Legendary Gem drop pools for a limited period, with availability extending until November 4. Players interested in additional copies therefore have another potential acquisition route, although those drops are chance-based rather than guaranteed.

Which Spawn Cosmetics Require Real Money?

Not everything in the crossover is included in the free reward track. The more elaborate Hellspawn's Guise Phantom Market cosmetics, including the iconic crimson cape appearance and enhanced visual effects, are part of a separate premium offering. Blizzard has also introduced the Lil' Violator familiar transformation through the paid Hellbound Leash Bundle, alongside additional shop packages containing resources and other items.

That distinction matters. The event provides earnable weapon appearances, emotes, an avatar frame, equipment, and a Legendary Gem, but players should not confuse those rewards with the complete premium Spawn appearance or the Violator familiar cosmetic. If your goal is simply to collect the free crossover items, there is no reason to purchase a bundle just to begin progressing through Hellspawn's Vengeance.

What Should You Prioritize Before November 1?

For most players, the best approach is to begin with the weekly Hellspawn's Vengeance objectives, then use Hellspawn's Bane and The Eighth Circle to advance the reward track. Prioritize the Necroplasmic Totem and any limited-time cosmetics you particularly want, while collecting Legendary Crests and equipment along the way. Check the event interface regularly, because the available objectives and reward milestones determine how quickly you can progress.

The event ends on November 1, 2026, so there is still time to participate, but not an unlimited amount. Additional Necroplasmic Totem drops remain available through eligible Elder Rift pools until November 4, giving gem collectors a slightly longer window than the main collaboration reward track.

Is the Diablo Immortal Spawn Event Worth Playing?

For free-to-play players, absolutely worth considering. The crossover offers a proper collection of earnable rewards rather than limiting everything interesting to the shop, and the modified Survivor's Bane experience provides something different from the usual daily routine. The Necroplasmic Totem is also an appealing addition for players who enjoy experimenting with builds, even if it will not necessarily become a permanent fixture in every setup.

More importantly, Spawn feels unusually comfortable in Sanctuary. His entire existence revolves around demonic bargains, betrayal, vengeance, and the unpleasant consequences of dealing with Hell. That sounds suspiciously like the average Diablo quest, except with a much better cape. Whether you are here for the rewards, the boss encounter, or simply the opportunity to unleash supernatural chains on another unfortunate demon, the crossover has enough going on to justify a visit before November 1.
