Blizzard has revealed that the Stone of Jordan will return in Diablo 4 as part of the Patch 3.2.0 PTR and the game’s upcoming Season 15 update.
It will arrive alongside eight other Legacy Uniques inspired by classic items from Diablo, Diablo 2 and Diablo 3.
Diablo 4 is apparently done borrowing ideas from its ancestors.
It has started opening the family vault.
The Stone Of Jordan Is Coming To Diablo 4
The Stone of Jordan is one of the most recognisable items in Diablo history.
It became famous in Diablo 2 as a powerful and highly desirable Unique ring, offering bonuses that worked across an enormous number of builds.
It also became deeply connected to the game’s trading economy.
Players used Stones of Jordan as currency, collected them in huge numbers and later sold them to help trigger the Diablo Clone event.
For many veterans, the ring represents more than another equipment drop.
It represents an era when Diablo’s economy was held together by one tiny piece of jewellery and an alarming amount of duplication.
Nine Legacy Uniques Are Planned
The Stone of Jordan is not returning alone.
Blizzard says nine classic items will be added permanently to Diablo 4.
The revealed collection includes familiar names such as:
- Stone of Jordan
- Leoric’s Crown
- Nemesis Bracers
- The Furnace
- In-Geom
- Messerschmidt’s Reaver
These items come from different periods of the franchise rather than one specific game.
That makes the collection feel less like a Diablo 2 tribute and more like Blizzard assembling a greatest-hits album from several decades of demon-related hoarding.
The Items Are Permanent Additions
These Legacy Uniques are not being presented as temporary seasonal powers.
They are intended to become permanent parts of Diablo 4’s item pool.
That means Eternal characters should eventually be able to find them alongside seasonal heroes once the update reaches the live game.
The exact versions being tested may still change before release.
PTR balance exists so players can discover which classic item has accidentally become capable of deleting the entire screen.
Old Names Need New Diablo 4 Mechanics
Returning items cannot simply copy their original statistics.
Diablo 2 and Diablo 3 use different combat systems, item rules and damage scaling from Diablo 4.
Blizzard therefore needs to preserve the identity of each item while making it useful inside the current game.
The Stone of Jordan should feel broadly valuable without becoming mandatory for every class.
Nemesis Bracers need a purpose in a game where shrines and elite encounters work differently.
In-Geom must translate its famous cooldown-focused identity without immediately breaking every speed-farming build.
Nostalgia may get players through the door.
The actual powers need to keep the items equipped.
The Stone Of Jordan Carries The Most Pressure
Of the announced Legacy Uniques, the Stone of Jordan will receive the most attention.
Players know the name.
They remember how often it dropped, how rarely it dropped or how many suspiciously identical copies filled Diablo 2’s economy.
A disappointing version would feel like a missed opportunity.
An overwhelmingly powerful version could turn the ring into another compulsory slot for every serious build.
Blizzard needs to land somewhere between respectful tribute and mandatory jewellery tax.
Season 15 Is Looking Back While Moving Forward
Season 15 is also introducing Soul Splinters, Challenge Dungeons, Character Rebirth and major crafting changes.
The Legacy Uniques give that update a direct connection to Diablo’s past.
New systems may shape how the season plays.
Items such as the Stone of Jordan give veteran players an immediate reason to care before they have read a single tooltip.
The ring is coming back.
The economy should probably hide the photocopier.
