Blizzard announced the promotion as part of its Season of Hell's Legacy launch information, confirming that the offer requires an active Xbox Game Pass subscription linked to your Battle.net account. The company does not currently specify a particular Game Pass tier in the Diablo IV announcement, so we would not invent one. If your account qualifies and the connection is active, logging into Diablo IV should make the cosmetics available.
More Than 50 Cosmetics Across All Classes
The scale is the interesting part. This is not one mount and a weapon skin buried somewhere in an account-linking menu. Blizzard says the collection contains over 50 total cosmetics spread across all Diablo IV classes. Armor sets make up part of the package, while Blizzard specifically calls out Mount Trophies, a Town Portal, an Emblem and a Headstone among the other included items.
Blizzard has not provided a convenient complete text list of every individual cosmetic in the announcement, so there is little value in pretending we can turn “more than 50” into an exact catalogue before the company does. The important part is that the rewards span the class roster rather than targeting one or two characters.
That makes the timing particularly useful. Season 15 begins with War Plans finally becoming much friendlier to players who enjoy rolling multiple characters, while the season's anniversary structure gives people plenty of reasons to revisit classes they may not have touched recently. If Blizzard is going to encourage another round of alt creation, giving every class something new to wear is at least considerate.
How to Claim the Diablo 4 Game Pass Cosmetics
The process Blizzard describes is straightforward:
- Make sure you have an active Xbox Game Pass subscription.
- Connect the Microsoft account associated with that subscription to your Battle.net account.
- Log into Diablo IV using the connected Battle.net account.
- Claim or access the cosmetics available to your account.
The important part is the Battle.net connection. Simply having Game Pass on one account and playing Diablo IV through an unrelated Battle.net identity is not enough. The subscription needs to be connected to the account where you actually want the cosmetics.
This also means the promotion is account-based rather than something tied to one seasonal character. You are not choosing between your Sorcerer and Necromancer while the other one watches sadly from the character-select screen. Blizzard describes the reward pool as covering all classes.
What If You Already Own Some of Them?
Blizzard has answered this one directly. If you already own cosmetics included in the Game Pass collection, you simply receive access to the rewards you do not already have.
There is no duplicate currency, alternative reward or compensation mentioned for previously owned items. You do not receive two Town Portals and discover that Sanctuary has invented portal layering. The system simply fills whatever gaps exist in the eligible collection.
That is worth knowing for long-time players because some of the items are described as familiar cosmetics rather than an entirely new Game Pass-exclusive collection. Veterans with large cosmetic libraries may therefore receive fewer than fifty new unlocks, while newer accounts can potentially gain considerably more.
Do You Keep the Cosmetics If Game Pass Expires?
This is the big unanswered question.
Blizzard's current wording says players can connect Battle.net to an active Game Pass subscription and “get access” to the cosmetics. The published FAQ explains what happens if you already own some items and how to connect the accounts, but it does not currently state what happens if the Game Pass subscription later expires.
That distinction matters.
“Claim permanently” and “get access while subscribed” can mean very different things in subscription services. Until Blizzard or Microsoft explicitly clarifies the entitlement rules, we would not assume either outcome.
If Blizzard confirms that the cosmetics remain permanently unlocked after claiming them, excellent. If access is tied continuously to Game Pass membership, players should know that too.
For now, the official answer is simply not there.
It Arrives at an Interesting Time for Diablo 4
The promotion also fits Blizzard's much broader attempt to lower the barriers around Diablo IV this month. The game has just launched on Nintendo Switch 2 through the Age of Hatred Collection, and Season 15 is beginning with a huge 30th anniversary event and a much larger Season Rank structure. Blizzard has simultaneously made it clear that Diablo IV is entering a new long-term phase built around seasons and ongoing additions rather than another currently planned traditional expansion.
Game Pass already gives Microsoft a large audience that can enter Diablo IV without approaching the game like a full-price purchase. Adding more than fifty cosmetics makes that relationship considerably more visible inside the game itself.
It is also another sign that Blizzard wants players moving between characters rather than treating Diablo IV as a one-class commitment. Account-wide War Plans reduce repeated progression, Rebirth lowers the friction of returning to old heroes, and a large cross-class cosmetic bundle gives the character-select screen another reason to become dangerous.
The Offer Is Simple, but Blizzard Still Owes Us One Answer
For existing Game Pass subscribers, there is not much downside here.

Log into Diablo IV.
Collect whatever cosmetics you do not already own.
More than fifty items across the class roster is a substantial account bonus, especially for newer players whose wardrobes have not spent three years accumulating the visual equivalent of a medieval department store.
The only meaningful uncertainty is what happens when the subscription ends.
Blizzard has told us how to get access.
It has not yet told us whether that access lasts forever.
Until it does, enjoy the free armor.
Just keep the receipt for the subscription.
